Red Dot Pots are a collaboration of Scott Bennett and dori DeCamillis, owners and instructors at Red Dot Gallery, Birmingham, Alabama. The artistic partnership developd naturally and spontaneously from two artists working in adjoining studios in two different media. Bennett makes the vessels and DeCamillis executes the surface designs.

Bennett throws clean, classic, vessel forms on the wheel. In keeping with his sculpture, his vessel designs are based on elegant lines. DeCamillis applies patterns, images, and designs by painting wax over the unfired glaze. "The imagery I choose is based on historical ornament, similar to my paintings," she says. The pieces are then oversprayed with a contrasting glaze revealing the design. The surface of Red Dot Pots embodies a combination of historical influences and Bennett's signature glaze techniques.
