painting instructor kristin martin

Kristin Martin has called Birmingham home for more than 25 years. During that time she discovered

a rewarding career as a nonprofit fundraiser. In spite of plenty of hard work, Kristin still wanted a

creative outlet and began taking oil painting classes after college. She has been a Red Dot student

since 2005.

Her painting style is loose and expressive. She's happiest when she is slopping the paint around the

canvas. Landscapes and simple subjects in strong light and shadow are some of her favorite things

to render in oil. When they choose to cooperate, her cats sometimes pose as her subjects.
