Statement

These signature miniaturized teapot forms are done utilizing hand built and wheel thrown techniques, using porcelain and stoneware clays.

Pieces are glazed with jewel toned glazes initially using an airbrush and then building up layers of color with a brush.

Many times these pieces suffer the rigors of the fire in the kiln. Glazes can run off the pot and warping is an inherent part of the process. Consequently many pieces are lost in the process.

The stamp on the teapot is the Chinese character CHOO, my last name—used as a symbol to authenticate these clay works of art and also to recognize that I am the first in my family to make a living as a potter.
